PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Glenn Tarver The 2023-2024 board had its first meeting. Welcome to Rosemary Sheppard who has a long history of serving on previous boards. She is a placeholder for Tom Brown pending his eye doctor consultations. Tom will join the board when he is able. Judy Newman will be our new secretary replacing Jane Robson who resigned after the last term. Thank you, Jane, for your years of service.
At the most recent meeting of the Growing Our Congregation Committee, we discussed Sunday services format and content looking at improvements for both members and newcomers. We are making steady progress. Susan McAlister will be our representative at the Wynford June Condo Board AGM and will be asking for information on the status of the reserve fund, the insurance situation specifically as related to the autumn 2022 generator fire and lengthy repairs and the resultant 17 percent increase to our 2023 condo fee. Congratulations to Rev Nicole McKay on her ordination from all of us at Don Heights. Our next board meeting is Tuesday, June 13 on Zoom at 7 o'clock. Book Launch July 18"The Letters: Postmark Prejudice in Black and White", a book written by our own Sheila White is being officially launched at Don Heights on Tuesday, July 18 at 6:30 pm. Sheila's biographical novel is a tribute to her parents, Bill and Vivian White, original Don Heights pioneers. The book is dedicated to them and racial equality. We recommend you RSVP now for the launch party event, whether your attendance will be in person or on Zoom.

Thanks for greeting my sister Dyane on Zoom, all the way from Nepal! John Kennedy led two groups to see the Rumi exhibit at the Aga Khan Museum. He's eager to lead a jaunt there to see the new exhibit about water. It's free admission on Wednesdays. Contact John if you're interested.
Gloria Watson, Edward Cartwright, and Janis Daly dropped off the donations that Don Heights Unitarian Congregation has assembled for Flemingdon Park Ministry over the past few weeks. They reported a critical need there for children and adult clothing. If you can bring clothing, kitchen stuff and bedding to Don Heights, this dedicated Don Heights trio will be dropping off more donations soon.
