Our small congregation is thriving because we are really good at sharing responsibilities and workloads. Thank you to those members who already participate on committees, especially those with leadership positions. These committees: "Do Be Do", Coffeehouse, Caring, Growing Our Congregation, Membership, Programming, Publicity, Rentals, Social Action, Tech Crew and Web Site are all operating smoothly and functioning well, which brings me to the Sunday Services Committee, responsible for 52 services a year, rain or shine, in-person and on-line.
It's a daunting task for a lay-led congregation with no settled minister. Week after week, this committee has provided excellent and relevant speakers on a wide variety of topics and themes as well as accompanying musicians from broad genres. This all-important committee meets monthly and is ably chaired by Sharyn Devine. The primary responsibility is identifying and contacting appropriate future speakers. There are openings on the Sunday Services Committee for some bright minds, creative problem-solvers and detail people. The Sunday Services Committee needs some help. Your help. Thank you for considering this. ~ Glenn

Potluck Lunch to Start Our New Year
New Name for an Old FavouriteIt used to be that "Starch Solution" was the name for our plant-based potluck held on the third Sunday of every month, Recently the organizing team decided to call it what it is: whole food, plant-based, vegan dining. Find out how delicious fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes and herbs can be. Healthy, good and tasty are the goals of this menu.
Bring an item to share at our yummy, Whole Food, Plant-Based Potluck Lunch: Sunday, January 21 at 12:45 pm, 18 Wynford Drive, Suite 102 after that morning's service. Music Notes by Sheila WhiteDon Heights Singers performed "A Very Jazzy Christmas", an original musical play for the December 10 service. Thank you to everyone who helped make the show a success, particularly John Kennedy, Jeanne Kennedy and Glenn Tarver, who stepped in at the last minute to replace cast members absent due to illness.
The Don Heights Singers group next meets on Thursday, January 4, 7 pm. Recently we welcomed our newest singer Brien Miron. We'd like more people to see what we're about. We are a component of Don Heights' community outreach, a creative singing group open to all. The only requirement is to possess an interest and joy in singing with others. Anyone can belong, no entry tests, no fees. We write and perform our own songs as well as material ranging from popular to spiritual. Our comfortable and functional rehearsal space is a course of great pride.
